Hi, I'm Jake, a driven software engineer with a diverse range of experience. Back in my middle school days, I found myself fascinated
by the possibilities that the jailbreaking realm had to offer for my iPod touches running iOS 1.1.1, which was the first iOS and prior to the release
of the Apple App Store. It was then that I discovered my passion for technology. I was amazed by the limitless capabilities that technology
had to offer, and since then, I've been hooked on tech. A few years later, I sought to conduct research in computer science. I was accepted into Indiana University, Bloomington, where I conducted research on world hunger and malnutrition within the Brendel Group, utilizing the Mason supercomputer. During a summer break from college, I landed a technology internship at TMC Bonds (acquired by the Intercontinental Exchange) in New York City. There, I led the ideation and development of a search algorithm to expedite data gathering, programmed in Python to improve internal efficiencies, and tracked ongoing issues and deadlines using JIRA. I also reported test cases and results
for automating login functionalities for different user roles, ensuring TMC Bonds' web application functioned efficiently. Since graduating with my
Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science in 2017, I have worked at major powerhouse companies.
After attaining my degree in 2017, I moved to New Jersey, where I worked at the USA Headquarters for Brother. I developed numerous application
programs in Python for a variety of Fortune 500 companies. I upgraded every Brother device's data collection and modification processes by coding
a tool to convert Excel spreadsheets into categorized MySQL databases and constructed a GUI to generate and send email reports. I was instrumental
in growing the third-party developer community, Brother Solutions Interface community, and was one of only two coders in Brother's Business Machines
Group for the entire United States of America. Most recently, I worked at Fashion Nova in Los Angeles, CA, building out backend features in Python
for a microservices application. I also migrated backend functionalities from one application into another and collaborated with colleague engineers
on agile software development via JIRA and GitHub for Scrum sprints. I implemented sanitizing functionality for a financial application with CloudWatch
logs containing sensitive data, wrote technical documentation for various software projects, onboarded a colleague software engineer, and built out unit
test suites for internal software applications.
In my spare time, I enjoy building software projects and listening to artistic music. I am constantly thinking of ways I can change the world for the
better through technology. With my breadth of experience and dedication to the craft of software engineering, I am a valuable asset.
